Meet the Captain
Hook, line and sinker.
That’s how hard I fell for fishing. My Dad took me out fishing when I was little, I pulled in a perch, and from that day forward I wanted to spend every available moment out on the water. I got my teaching degree and started teaching 5th graders about enviromental conservation. Then I got to work on becoming a charter captain. I saved up the money to buy my own boat and I uesd every spare moment learning everything I could about the Chesapeake Bay fishery. Now, I spend my days doing what I love and my evenings planning my next trip. You won’t find endless articles comparing one type of gear to another, or arguing about proper drag tension. Instead, my focus is on the elemental quality of fishing and why we derive so much pleasure from doing it in the first place. And of course, I’ll also share the occasional trick or two for landing your best catch.
